Although Grand Rapids in last 2 years has been very kind to Jessa and I, the long winters here have been cruel and unforgiving. Each february I am certain it is our last february in GR, and then by September I’m preparing to make it through another long cold winter. I go outdoors more often. I don’t talk as much or as fast. I find myself reading more new books than I can handle. Smoking more. Thinking more. So here is a playlist that sounds something like I feel this autumn. -Gabe
“Then summer fades and passes and October comes. We’ll smell smoke then, and feel an unexpected sharpness, a thrill of nervousness, swift elation, a sense of sadness and departure.” -Thomas Wolfe
